Yesterday I told you about my goals in life. Today I want to tell you about my dream job. Many of my classmates dream of working in banks or government offices. My dream is different. I want to become a software engineer. I want to design programs that solve real problems for real people. When I imagine my future office, I see a quiet desk with two screens, a cup of tea, and lines of code waiting to be fixed. Some people find this picture boring. For me, it sounds like peace. My uncle Khalid once said that a good job should not feel like a punishment, it should feel like a purpose. Software engineering feels like a purpose to me. I do not chase this dream only for money. I chase it because I love the moment when a broken program finally runs correctly. I also dream of working with people from different countries, since most software teams use English to communicate. That is one more reason why I keep practicing my English every single day. My dream job is not just a title on a business card. It is a life where my mind stays curious and my work actually helps someone. I know the path to this dream is not short. There will be more courses, more practice projects, and more late nights at my study table. But every line of code I write today is one small step closer to the job I have been imagining since I was a young boy in Lahore.

My Dream Job Essay - Choosing a Career Based on Interest, Not Just Money

A strong my dream job essay does not simply list a job title. It explains the reason behind the choice. Ali makes this clear by saying he does not chase his dream only for money, but because he loves the feeling of fixing a broken program. Grammar Focus - Using Want To and Dream Of

This paragraph uses two common patterns for talking about future career wishes: want to and dream of. We say I want to become a software engineer (want to + base verb), and I dream of working with people from different countries (dream of + verb plus ing). Beginners often confuse these two patterns, so it helps to remember: after want to, use the simple form of the verb; after dream of, add ing to the verb. Practising both patterns makes it easier to write a confident essay on my dream job for students.
