My name is Faizan and I moved to a new city when I was thirteen and felt completely alone for three months.
I sat at the edge of the classroom, ate lunch by myself and walked home without talking to anyone.
The loneliness was different from sadness — it was more like being invisible.
My mother told me to join one activity so I joined the debate club because I had to speak and be heard.
In the first meeting I introduced myself in English for thirty seconds and one boy gave me a thumbs up after.
That was the beginning — one small connection is enough to break loneliness.
