My name is Tariq and I live in a city where it rains a lot in July and August.
The first rain of the season is my favourite day of the year.
The smell of wet earth after rain is something I cannot describe.
Children run outside and play in the water.
My mother makes corn on the stove.
My father sits on the veranda and watches the rain fall.
We drink hot chai together.
The streets flood a little but nobody cares.
Rain makes everything feel new and clean.
