My name is Tayyaba and last summer my family planned a trip to the northern areas of Pakistan — my first time travelling far from Karachi.
One week before the trip I could not sleep well and lay in bed every night thinking about the mountains and rivers.
My younger sister said I was driving everyone mad by talking about the trip all day.
Excitement is like fizzy water inside you that wants to come out in some direction.
On the bus I watched the flat land of Punjab slowly become the hills of KPK and then the tall mountains began.
I grabbed my sister arm and said look look look and she laughed even though I had woken her up.
The feeling when reality is even better than you imagined is one of the best feelings a human can have.
Excitement before something is part of the joy not just a sign that you are impatient.
میرا نام طیبہ ہے اور پچھلی گرمیوں میں خاندان نے شمالی علاقوں کا دورہ بنایا — پہلی بار کراچی سے دور سفر۔
سفر سے ایک ہفتہ پہلے ٹھیک سے سو نہیں پاتی اور ہر رات پہاڑوں اور دریاؤں کے بارے میں سوچتی رہتی۔
میری چھوٹی بہن نے کہا کہ سارا دن سفر کی باتیں کرکے سب کو پاگل کر رہی ہوں۔
جوش فزی پانی کی طرح ہے جو اندر ہو اور کسی سمت باہر آنا چاہتا ہے۔
بس میں دیکھتی رہی جیسے پنجاب کی سپاٹ زمین کے پی کے کی پہاڑیاں بنی اور پھر اونچے پہاڑ شروع ہوئے۔
بہن کا بازو پکڑا اور کہا دیکھو دیکھو دیکھو اور وہ ہنسی حالانکہ میں نے جگا دیا تھا۔
جب حقیقت تصور سے بھی بہتر ہو تو وہ انسان کے بہترین احساسات میں سے ایک ہے۔
کسی چیز سے پہلے کا جوش خوشی کا حصہ ہے نہ کہ صرف عجلت کی علامت۔
मेरा नाम तय्यबा है और पिछली गर्मियों में परिवार ने उत्तरी इलाकों की यात्रा बनाई — पहली बار दूर यात्रा।
यात्रा से एक हफ्ते पहले ठीक से सो नहीं पाती और हर रात पहाड़ों के बारे में सोचती रहती।
छोटी बहन ने कहा सारा दिन यात्रा की बातें करके सबको पागल कर रही हूँ।
उत्साह फ़िज़ी पानी की तरह है जो अंदर हो और किसी दिशा में बाहर आना चाहता है।
बस में देखती रही जैसे पंजाब की समतल ज़मीन KPK की पहाड़ियाँ बनी और ऊँचे पहाड़ शुरू हुए।
बहन का हाथ पकड़ा और कहا देखو देखो देखो और वह हँसी हालाँकि जगा दिया था।
जब हक़ीक़त कल्पना से भी बेहतर हो तो वह इंसान के बेहतरीन एहसासों में से एक है।
किसी चीज़ से पहले का उत्साह खुशी का हिस्सा है न कि सिर्फ अधीरता की निशानी।
