Yesterday I told you about my favourite season. Today I want to tell you about my favourite animal. My favourite animal is the cat. We do not keep a cat as a pet at home, but there is a grey cat that lives somewhere on our street in Gulberg, and it has been coming to our front door almost every evening for the past two years. My mother started putting out a small bowl of water for it, and then a little food, and now it treats our doorstep as part of its regular route. Nobody named it officially, but Hira calls it Dhuaan, which means smoke in Urdu, because of its colour. I have always admired cats for reasons that are hard to explain to someone who does not share the feeling. A cat does not perform affection. It does not rush to you or wag its tail or try to impress you. If it comes and sits near you, that choice belongs entirely to the cat, and that is exactly what I find so interesting about it. There is something in a cat that reminds me of a quality I am still trying to develop in myself, the ability to be calm and unhurried even in a busy world. Dhuaan is particularly good at this. It sits on our garden wall for long stretches of time, watching the street with what I can only describe as polite curiosity. Nothing seems to alarm it unnecessarily. When Bilal came to visit last year and walked through our gate, Dhuaan looked at him once, decided he was acceptable, and went back to watching the street. Bilal said that was the best welcome he had ever received. I think he was right.

Essay on My Favourite Animal - With Urdu and Hindi Translation

Writing an essay on my favourite animal is most memorable when the animal is connected to a personal experience rather than just described in general terms. This paragraph follows Ali story as he explains why cats are his favourite animal through the real example of a grey street cat named Dhuaan that visits his home in Gulberg, Lahore, using simple beginner English with full Urdu and Hindi translation.

My Favourite Animal Is Cat Essay - Admiring a Quality, Not Just an Appearance

What sets this my favourite animal is cat essay apart is that Ali does not describe a cat by listing its physical features. Instead he explains what he admires about the way a cat behaves: it does not perform affection, it does not rush to impress, and when it chooses to sit near you, that choice belongs entirely to the cat. This approach of connecting an animal to a human quality that the writer admires is a technique students can use in their own favourite animal essays.

My Favourite Animal Paragraph in English - Using a Specific Animal from Real Life

A my favourite animal paragraph in english becomes immediately more interesting when it describes a specific animal the writer knows personally rather than a general species description. Ali describes Dhuaan, the grey street cat named by his sister Hira, in enough specific detail that the reader can picture exactly this one cat sitting on the garden wall watching the street with polite curiosity.

Short Essay on My Favourite Animal - A Simple Version

Here is a short essay on my favourite animal that beginners can use as a starting template:

My favourite animal is the cat. Cats are calm, independent, and very observant. I admire cats because they do not try to impress anyone. When a cat chooses to sit near you, it is a genuine choice, not a performance. There is a cat that visits our street every evening, and watching it has taught me something about staying calm and unhurried even in a busy world.

Why Cat Is My Favourite Animal - Connecting the Animal to a Personal Value

Ali gives an unusual and thoughtful answer to the question why cat is my favourite animal by connecting the cat to a personal quality he is still trying to develop in himself: the ability to be calm and unhurried even in a busy world. This is a strong technique for any animal essay because it shows that the writer has thought deeply about why they love the animal, not just that they find it cute or interesting.

Vocabulary from This Paragraph

perform (اظہار کرنا) - to do something to be seen or noticed by others | affection (محبت / پیار) - a gentle feeling of liking or care | admire (تعریف کرنا) - to regard someone or something with respect and approval | unhurried (غیر عجلت مند) - moving or doing things without rushing | curiosity (تجسس) - a strong desire to know or learn about something | acceptable (قابل قبول) - satisfactory or allowed | route (راستہ) - a regular path or course taken to reach a place | stretch (لمبا عرصہ) - a continuous period of time.

Grammar Focus - Using Which to Add Information About a Noun

This paragraph uses which clauses to add extra information about nouns without starting a new sentence: there is a grey cat which has been coming to our front door almost every evening, and Hira calls it Dhuaan, which means smoke in Urdu. This structure, noun plus which plus extra information, is a useful tool in any descriptive essay because it allows the writer to give more detail without breaking the flow of the paragraph. Practice this pattern: I have a book which I read every night before sleeping, or My favourite colour is blue, which reminds me of open spaces.
