Yesterday I told you about my father. Today I want to tell you about my mother. Her name is Zarina. She is forty-five years old. She is not very tall, but she has a warm and kind face. Every morning she wakes up before everyone else. She makes breakfast for all of us before my father leaves for work. She washes our clothes, cleans the house, and cooks three meals every day. She does all of this without anyone asking her. When I fail a test, she does not shout at me. She sits beside me and says, try again. When I am sick, she stays awake all night. She puts her hand on my head and makes me feel safe. My mother never went to university. But she is the wisest person I know. She taught me how to be patient, how to be honest, and how to care for others. My father is my hero. But my mother is my home.
