My name is Shaista and for a long time I only spoke English when the teacher asked me directly and never raised my hand.
I was afraid of making grammatical mistakes and people noticing.
The turning point came when I joined an English conversation group after school.
The teacher said this room has one rule — there are no wrong answers here only incomplete ones.
That one sentence changed everything for me.
I started speaking slowly at first — short sentences and simple words — but I spoke.
Confidence does not arrive all at once — it builds sentence by sentence.
After six months I was the person who spoke the most in the group.
Confidence is not the absence of fear — it is deciding that speaking is more important than being perfect.
The day I understood that my English changed forever.
میرا نام شائستہ ہے اور کافی عرصے تک صرف اس وقت بولتی تھی جب ٹیچر نے پوچھا اور کبھی ہاتھ نہیں اٹھایا۔
گرامر کی غلطیاں کرنے اور لوگوں کے نوٹس کرنے سے ڈر لگتا تھا۔

मोड़ तब آया जब स्कूल के बाद अंग्रेज़ी बातचीत ग्रुप में शामिल हुई।
टीचर ने कहा इस कमरे का एक नियम है — यहाँ कोई गलत जवाब नहीं सिर्फ अधूरे।
उस एक जुमले ने मेरे لिए सब कुछ बदल دिया।
शुरुआत में धीरे-धीरे बोलना शुरू किया — छोटे जुमले और आसان शब्द — लेकिन बोला।
आत्मविश्वास एकदम नहीं आता — यह जुमला-जुमला बनता है।
छह महीने बाद उस ग्रुप में मैं सबसे ज़्यादा बोलने वाली थी।
आत्मविश्वास डर की अनुपस्थिति नहीं — यह तय करना है कि बोलना परिपूर्ण होने से ज़्यादा ज़रूरी है।
जिस दिन यह समझा मेरी अंग्रेज़ी हमेशा के लिए बदल गई।
