My name is Faheem and my father is a punctual man who taught me that being on time is not just politeness but a form of respect for other people.
He said when you are late you are telling the person waiting that your time is more important than theirs.
In my college group there was a friend reliably twenty minutes late to everything so we secretly told him things started twenty minutes earlier — when he found out he was upset.
His consistent lateness had made everyone else adjust their behaviour around his — that is a cost people do not always see clearly.
My father was always five minutes early and in all my years of knowing him I cannot remember a single occasion when someone had to wait for him.

उसकी लगातार देर ने बाकी सबको अपना व्यवहार उसके इर्द-गिर्द ढालने पर मजबूर किया — यह वह कीमत है जो लोग हमेशा स्पष्ट नहीं देखते।
मेरे पिता हमेशा पाँच मिनट पहले होते और जितने साल से जानता हूँ एक भी मौका याद नहीं जब किसी को उनका इंतज़ार करना पड़ा हो।
