My name is Ruqayyah and in class ten my friends and I formed a study group of five students who met every evening for three weeks before annual exams.
We made rules — no phones on the table maximum fifteen minutes of talk then study begins and each person must explain one topic they understood well.
When you explain something to another person you discover very quickly whether you actually understand it or not.
I thought I knew the history chapter well until two questions I could not answer showed me I had memorised dates but not the reasons.
Group study does not replace reading alone but for abstract topics having someone to talk them through with is something a textbook cannot replace.
میرا نام رقیہ ہے اور دسویں جماعت میں میں اور دوستوں نے پانچ طلبا کا اسٹڈی گروپ بنایا جو سالانہ امتحانوں سے تین ہفتے پہلے ہر شام ملتے تھے۔
قوانین بنائے — میز پر فون نہیں، زیادہ سے زیادہ پندرہ منٹ باتیں پھر پڑھائی اور ہر ایک اچھی طرح سمجھا موضوع سمجھائے۔
جب کسی کو کچھ سمجھاتے ہیں تو بہت جلدی پتہ چلتا ہے کہ واقعی سمجھا ہے یا نہیں۔
میں نے سوچا تھا تاریخ کا باب اچھی طرح جانتی ہوں جب تک دو ایسے سوال نہ آئے جو ثابت کیا کہ تاریخیں یاد تھیں وجوہات نہیں۔
گروپ اسٹڈی اکیلے پڑھنے کی جگہ نہیں لیتی لیکن مجرد موضوعات کے لیے کوئی ان پر بات کرنے والا ہو یہ ٹیکسٹ بک نہیں دے سکتی۔
मेरा नाम रुक़य्यह है और दसवीं में मैंने और दोस्तों ने पाँच छात्रों का अध्ययन समूह बनाया जो परीक्षाओं से तीन हफ्ते पहले हर शाम मिलता था।
नियम बनाए — मेज़ पर फोन नहीं, अधिकतम पंद्रह मिनट बातें फिर पढ़ाई और हर कोई एक अच्छी तरह समझा विषय समझाए।
جب किसी को कुछ समझाते हैं तो बहुت जल्दी पता चलता है कि सच में समझा या नहीं।
सोचा था इतिहास का अध्याय अच्छी तरह जानती हूँ जब तक दो सवाल नहीं दिखाए — तारीखें याद थीं, कारण नहीं।
समूह अध्ययन अकेले पढ़ने की जगह नहीं लेता पर अमूर्त विषयों के लिए बात करने वाला कोई हो यह पाठ्यपुस्तक नहीं दे सकती।
