My name is Burhan and in class nine a classmate named Farooq sat next to me during exams because our surnames put us in alphabetical seating.
During the annual maths exam I was completely stuck on one question when Farooq noticed I had stopped writing.
Without saying a word he drew a tiny diagram of just four lines on the corner of his rough sheet that showed me the shape of the problem.
I looked at it understood immediately and solved the question in three minutes — Farooq never mentioned it again and asked for nothing in return.
When I can help someone who is stuck I try to help the way Farooq did — briefly clearly and without needing any credit.
میرا نام برہان ہے اور نویں جماعت میں فاروق نامی ہم جماعت امتحانوں میں میرے پاس بیٹھتا تھا کیونکہ ہمارے نام حروف تہجی ترتیب میں ساتھ تھے۔

सालाना गणित परीक्षा में एक सवाल पर बिल्कुल अटका था जब फ़ारूक़ ने देखा कि लिखना बंद कर दिया।

देखा, तुरंत समझ आया और तीन मिनट में हल किया — फ़ारूक़ ने फिर ज़िक्र नहीं किया और बदले में कुछ नहीं माँगा।
जब कोई अटका हो और मदद कर सकूँ तो फ़ارूक़ जैसी کوشिश करता हूँ — संक्षिप्त, स्पष्ट और बिना किसी श्रेय की ज़रूरत।
