My name is Adyan and the school canteen run by Chacha Kareem was one of my favourite places in all of school.
Chacha Kareem had worked there so many years that he knew almost every student by name and usually had your order ready before you asked.
The canteen was where students from different classes mixed freely — in class you had an assigned seat but at the canteen you sat where there was space.
An older student told me about a book competition I had never heard of — I entered and won third place.
The canteen was small and often noisy but it was one of the most open and equal spaces in the whole school.

कैंटीन छोटी और अक्सर शोरगुल वाली थी पर पूरे स्कूल की सबसे खुली और बराबरी वाली जगहों में से एक थी।
