My name is Arham and when I was nine years old my father taught me how to ride a bicycle in the lane behind our house.
My father ran beside me holding the seat and then slowly let go without telling me.
The moment I realised he had let go and I was still moving was one of the most exciting moments of my childhood.
Learning to balance is something the body does almost without the brain — you have to feel it and let it happen.
Cycling is free keeps me fit and gives me a freedom that walking does not.
Once learned cycling stays with you for the rest of your life without practice.
